Cuttack: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has appointed Jugal Kishor Samal, a member of Odisha Cricket Association(OCA) as the manager of the Indian Men’s Cricket Team for the upcoming West Indies Tour of India 2025.
Samal has earlier served as BCCI observer for an ODI match and manager of the Odisha Ranji Trophy Team on multiple occasions, the OCA said in a release.
The series with West Indies will feature two Test matches. The opener will begin on October 2 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad before the caravan moves to Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi for the second and final tie on October 13.
India has already announced its 15-member squad for the upcoming Test series with Shubman Gill, resuming his duties as captain with Ravindra Jadeja as his deputy. Jasprit Bumrah too will be in the team, while Devdutt Padikkal replaces Karun Nair.
This series will be India’s second contest in the fresh World Test Championship cycle. They earlier pulled off a six-run win against Ben Stokes-led side in the fifth Test to draw the series 2-2 in the tour of England.
