Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) will conduct an invitational tournament in which other state teams will be invited to participate.
The Apex Council of the OCA, which met on Wednesday, decided to organise the invitational meet in senior and junior categories.
It Apex Council decided that curators and coaches be appointed at various affiliated cricket academies where OCA has developed infrastructure.
It was also proposed that the U-19 Men’s Inter-District tournament be conducted in a three-tier system like the Kalahandi Cup — Diamond, Gold and Silver League.
Council members decided that all probable teams will be handed over to the respective coaches, with focus to be given more on training and pre-season invitational matches — both for men and women.
A two-minute silence was observed before the meeting to condole the passing away of Shahid Khan, Dr Sanjay Satapathy, Manoranjan Mohanty, Bhabatosh Paramanik and Somanath Nayak.
