Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) will host Elite Group B matches of the upcoming Ranji Trophy, but Team Odisha won’t feature at home.
The matches featuring four teams — Bengal, Baroda, Hyderabad and Chandigarh — will be held at two venues in the state.
Odisha, on the other hand, have been placed in Elite Group D of the premier domestic competition and will play their matches at Ahmedabad. They will face Saurashtra, Mumbai and Goa.
The window for the Ranji Trophy has been decided from 10th February till 15th March 2022.
With the country being in the midst of Omicron-driven third wave of COVID-19 pandemic, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took its time regarding the staging of Ranji Trophy this season. They ultimately gave the go-ahead, but tweaked the format a bit.
The revised format will see all 38 teams taking part but they have been divided into 9 groups (8 Elite and 1 Plate), across nine venues.
The last few seasons saw the teams being divided into four or five groups.
