Cuttack: Veteran Odia actor Mihir Das has been undergoing treatment at a private hospital here since December 7.
The actor, who had been suffering from kidney ailments for the past few years and undergoing dialysis, was admitted to Ashwini hospital in the city after his condition became critical. He is currently on ventilator support, family sources said.
Soon after the news of his hospitalisation broke, actors from the Odia cine industry wished his speedy recovery.
In his career spanning over three decades, he has won the Best Actor award from the state government for his performance in Laxmi Protima
in 1998 and Pheria Mo Suna Bhauni in 2005. However, it was Pua Mora Bholashankar, which propelled him to stardom.He also received the Best Comedian award for Mu Tate Love Karuchi in 2007 and Best Supporting Actor award for Prema Adhei Akhyara in 2010. He played the antagonist in 2009 Abhimanyu.
