Bhubaneswar: Father of Odia television actress Rashmirekha Ojha, who allegedly died by suicide, on Monday said that he suspected involvement of her live-in partner in her death.
The actress was found hanging in her rented house at Gadasahi, Nayapalli, around 10.30 pm on June 18 and a suicide note purportedly written by her was found on a table near the body.
“Our call to her on Saturday evening went unanswered. Later, Santosh informed us about her death. We came to know from the landlord of the house that they were living as a married couple. We have no idea about her marriage,” said Rashmirekha’s father.
He further said that if they were married then Santosh is the murderer. “A probe should be launched and he should be jailed,” the bereaved father added.

According to sources, Rashmirekha, who hailed from Tirtol in Jagatsinghpur district, had come to Bhubaneswar to pursue a career in acting after her Plus II. She moved in with her male friend Santosh about one and a half months ago. However, he left the house and started living separately a few days ago.
Rashmirekha had gained popularity for her role in the serial, ‘Kemiti Kahibi Kaha’.
Meanwhile, Nayapalli police have registered an unnatural death case. While the suicide note mentioned that nobody should be held responsible for her death, police are waiting for the autopsy letter, which would shed more light on her death.
