Bhubaneswar: The deceased Odia television actress Rashmirekha Ojha’s live-in partner Santosh Patra appeared before police in Odisha capital on Friday.
Santosh, who was absconding since the actress was found hanging in her rented accommodation in Bhubaneswar on June 18, was earlier issued summon notice by police to appear before them.
According to sources, a police team led by ACP was questioning Santosh, who works in a finance company, in Nayapalli police station in the city. On Thursday, Rashmirekha’s former boyfriend and TV actor Raja was questioned in the police station.
Following the death of the actress, her father had lodged a complaint alleging that Santosh had killed Rashmirekha out of jealousy as he was not happy that she was still in touch with her former boyfriend and television actor Raja.
Raja’s name had cropped up in the case after an audio clip of a purported conversation between the actress and Santosh went viral on Monday. The actor admitted to being in a relationship with Rashmirekha, who had tattooed his name on her hand, in the past.
Rashmirekha’s family lives in Jagatsinghpur district’s Sanket Patna village. She had been living in Bhubaneswar for the last four-five years, acting in albums and television serials. After quitting acting, she was working in a finance company, where he met Santosh.
