Bhubaneswar: Rabi Narayan Mishra of Odisha has been promoted as the executive director (ED) of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
Mishra will look after the newly-created specialised supervisory and regulatory cadre of the apex bank. Besides, he will supervise the functioning of the cooperative banks and the non-banking financial companies.
The post of the ED had fallen vacant after the retirement of Rosemary Sebastian.
Prior to his new assignment, Mishra was the principal chief general manager of the Risk Management Department.
The creation of the cadre was decided at the central board meeting of the RBI in Chennai on May 21.
