Bhubaneswar: Popular Odia comedian Mr Gulua has made a desperate plea for assistance from authorities, claiming grave danger to his life.

In the widely circulated video, Gulua alleged that a group has been harassing him, demanding an extortion payment of Rs 1 crore which was later brought down to Rs 50 lakh. He stated that the extortionists threatened severe repercussions if the money was not paid, including spreading defamatory content about him online and filing fabricated cases against him.

The comedian further alleged that the threats extended to physical violence, with warnings of assaults that could leave him permanently disabled and unable to pursue his career.

Gulua revealed that he had sought help from Balianta police on Wednesday but refrained from further visits, claiming the individuals involved have connections within the police force, leaving him feeling vulnerable and unsafe.

In the emotional message, Gulua implored the administration, the general public, and media outlets to treat his pleas seriously. “I may not be able to move the court or approach the SP or DSP office to file a complaint,” he said.

Expressing deep fear for his safety, he warned that any harm — be it murder, injury, or incapacitation — would be the responsibility of the individuals, whom he had identified in another video. “I have been able to sleep or eat for the last 3 days having been subjected to mental harassment,” he said.
