Bhubaneswar: Kalia Pradhan from Ganjam district has found a place in the 14-member national blind cricket team for a bilateral series against Nepal to be played in Kanpur and Dehradun.
Pradhan belongs to the B1 category as he has completely lost his vision.
Kalia (24) lost his father in 2015 and his mother Khali is a daily wage labourer.
Expressing happiness over his selection, said his dream to play for India has been fulfilled.
The youth, who has been playing since 2009, gave credit to his mother for his success. “My mother has always inspired and taught me to work hard to achieve my goal,” he said.
