Cuttack: Odia film director Bobby Islam on Wednesday claimed that he has received a death threat through a WhatsApp call after he participated in a television debate.
Following the phone call, he lodged a complaint at Daragha Bazar police station in Cuttack city regarding the incident.
In the complaint, he alleged that he received an audio call from an unknown number on WhatsApp around 8 pm on Tuesday. He received repeated calls from the same number. The caller abused him in obscene language and threatened to kill him.
The director further stated that the caller, taking actor Manoj Mishra’s name, threatened him that if he speaks a word against ‘Manoj Dada’, he would be hacked to death.
The caller also abused him using vulgar language. Bobby immediately video-called him, and the caller picked up the call with his face covered with a cloth.
The Ollywood director has informed police that he is anticipating threat and if anything happens to him, then actor Manoj Mishra would be responsible for it.
