Bhubaneswar: The story of the youngest martyr of the freedom struggle, Baji Rout of Odisha got a befitting acknowledgement at the Sixth Noida International Film Festival last week. Producer Satyabrat Sanu Ratho’s ‘Baji The Immortal Boat Boy’ bagged the Best Editing Film Award for 2019 at the festival.
The award winning film rekindles the indomitable spirit and the pride for the glory of Odisha. Editor Kamalakanta Sahoo, has portrayed the brave spirit of a child for his motherland through this film. It has been directed by Chinmay Das.
“I am happy that the film got recognition. This was my first step towards changing people’s perception about Odia movies. Prelude Productions will definitely try to come up with such movies to motivate upcoming directors and stories,” said Satyabrat.
Arijeet Mishra has played the lead role of Baji Rout. Others who star in the movie are Pranab Prasanna Rath, Partha Sarathi Ray, Bhaswati Basu, Vikas Choudhary, Nisikant Nayak, Jagannath Rath, Deepanjali Mohanty and Vicky Vijay. The script is by Sumit Panda, the story and screenplay are by Chinmay Das and the director of photography is Soumya Mohanty.
Noida International Film Festival was earlier known as Miniboxoffice International Film Festival. After three successful editions, which cater mainly to short films, the festival is now bigger with the addition of a feature films section.
