Odia Film Producer Arrested In Cheating Case In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Police have arrested an Odia film producer in connection with a cheating case in Bhubaneswar.

As per reports, a complaint was filed at Nayapalli police station in the city alleging that the film producer, Sachikant Jena, had duped the complainant of Rs 2 lakh in a land deal.

The complainant alleged that Jena had assured him of making arrangement for sale of a piece of housing plot near the All India Institute Medical Science (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar. The complainant had also paid Rs 2 lakh to the film producer in this regard. But Jena neither provided the land nor returned the money, he complained.

Following investigation into the complaint, the police had arrested three persons earlier. They arrested Jena in connection with the cheating case on Thursday.

It may be noted that police had arrested another Odia film producer, Sanjay Nayak, for allegedly assaulting a woman journalist in Bhubaneswar on November 4.
