Bhubaneswar: In a good news for Ollywood, acclaimed Odia filmmaker Anupam Patnaik’s first feature movie ‘Pratikshya’ has been selected to be screened at the 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI).
As per reports, total 25 feature films and 20 non-feature films have been selected under the Indian Panoram section to be screened at IFFI scheduled to be held in Goa from November 20 to 28.
Shortlisted under the feature film category, ‘Pratikshya’ is the only Odia movie to be screened at the film festival, said Anupam in a tweet on Saturday. Congratulating the entire team, he said the selection of the movie for an international platform was a ‘Big Achievement’.
The feature films have been selected from a broad spectrum of 354 qualifying contemporary Indian feature films.
The son of eminent Odia producer and director late Amiya Patnaik, Anupam’s film has been inspired by a short story by Gaurahari Das and some true incidents which have been shot at real locations in Bhubaneswar. Anupam’s first feature film, ‘Pratikshya’ will be released on December 2.
