Bhubaneswar: Odia girl Debanshi Nikita Choudhury was felicitated by Odisha Society of America (OSA) in the field of art and culture.
Noted music director and classical flutist Hariprasad Chaurasia felicitated Debanshi with the ‘Yuva Kala Vikasha Sammana’ in the 50th conclave organised by OSA in Atlanta recently.
Notably, the award is given to youths working in the fields of culture, literature, music and dance in North America.
Debanshi is an expert in Odissi Chhanda, Chamu, Odissi dance, folk dance and Sambalpuri dance. She has learned Odissi from noted Odissi Guru Amulya Balabantaray.
Debanshi has also worked in the field of literature and also excelled in debate and essay competitions. She is the daughter of Debakinandan and Anjana Choudhury.
At present, Debanshi teaches Odia language, culture, and literature to expatriate Odia children.
