Bhubaneswar: Odia girl Omm Narayani has fulfilled her childhood dream by becoming a scientist at National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
A native of Hatasahi in Kendrapara district’s Rajkanika block, Narayani has been staying with her father, Biranchi Narayan, and mother, Geetanjali Nayak, in America.
“Narayani wanted to be a scientist from her childhood. To fulfill her dream, she worked very hard,” said her grandfather, Alekha Nayak, a resident of Bhubaneswar.
“Our family always supported her in pursuing her dreams and achieve success. It is a proud moment for our family, as well as for the district and state,” he added.
A brilliant student, 28-year-old Narayani has studied space science in Berkeley University in America, Johns Hopkins University, and Imperial College in London. She has also completed her PhD and doing higher research now.
She has presented papers at conferences in Germany, France, Netherlands, London, China and Japan among many other countries.
