Odia Jawan Among 5 Killed In Terror Attack In Jammu & Kashmir

Bhubaneswar: One of 5 Indian Army jawans killed in a terror attack in Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday has been identified as a young man from Odisha.

As per reports, the deceased jawan from Odisha has been identified as Debashis Biswal of Khandayat Sahi under Alaguma panchayat near Sakhigopal in Puri district.

The family of Debashis was informed about his death by the Army Headquarters. Debashis is survived by his wife Sushree Sangeeta and seven-month-old daughter. He had got married in 2021.

According to the Northern Command of Army Headquarters, unidentified terrorists fired at an Army vehicle at around 3 pm. Five jawans travelling in the vehicle were killed and one was seriously injured in the attack.

The five personnel who lost their lives belonged to Rashtriya Rifles Unit and were deployed for counter-terrorist operations in the area. The injured soldier was rushed to the Army Hospital at Rajouri.
