Odia Jawan Martyred In Jammu & Kashmir

Bhubaneswar: The body of Odia jawan Ajit Sahu, martyred in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, will be brought back to Odisha on Tuesday.

An army special forces convoy was attacked while on its way at Arihal village of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday in which nine jawans including Ajit were seriously injured. Ajit later succumbed to his injuries. His family got to know about his death after Army officers in Anantnag informed them on Tuesday morning.

A native of Badasuanla village in Kamakhyanagar block of Dhenkanal district, Ajit had joined the Army in 2015.

As informed by the district administration, his mortal remains will arrive at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday afternoon from where it will be taken to Dhenkanal in the evening.
