Cuttack: Lyricist Pramod Parida on Wednesday levelled serious allegations of kidnapping and murder attempt against singer Humane Sagar’s manager.

In his complaint with Badambadi police, Parida alleged that Sagar’s manager Dinesh Behera alias Papu arrived at his place at Palamandap in Badambadi locality on Tuesday afternoon. Papu threatened him at gunpoint and started abusing him while accusing him of defaming Sagar on social media. He then dragged him out of his house and took him on a two-wheeler to a house near Sunshine field where his hands were tied up and he was mercilessly thrashed by a a group of around seven to eight youths.

Parida alleged that he lost consciousness after being hit on the head with an iron rod by Papu.

When the lyricist gained consciousness, he found himself lying naked and his gold chain and watch were missing. He alleged they made a video of the entire incident and threatened to kill him if ever wrote anything against Sagar on social media.

Speaking to the media with a bandage across his head, Parida said that he later the place where he was assaulted was Sagar’s office. “I was tortured for around three to four hours there. The place looked like terrorist camp with sharp weapons and henchmen,” he said.

While stating that Sagar was not present in the office, Parida added that Papu told him that the abduction and assault was carried out at the singer’s behest.
