Inspired by his maternal grandfather, Jena began writing at the age of seven. ‘Pirati Tora Duru Juhara’, ‘Gori Dekhili Kali Dekhili’ and ‘Emiti Rati Eje Abhula Smruti’ are among the popular songs penned by him. He directed movies like ‘Sasti’ and ‘Baata Abata’ and wrote screenplay and dialogue for around 8 movies. He has also authored 15 books and was a playwright.
