Bhubaneswar: On the occasion of 85th birthday of legendary playback singer Pranab Kishore Patnaik, a new Odia music album titled ‘Balighara’ was released under the banner of MO TV at Press Club, here on Thursday.
Released by Prelude Production, the lyrics of ‘Balighara’ has been written by veteran lyricist Satchi Mohanty and its songs are composed by an emerging music director Sanjay Pattnaik.
Satyabrat Sanu Ratho, the producer of the album has tried to re-create the golden era of Odia music and literature by collaborating the two legends in the album.
The release of music album was followed by launch of a calendar, specially designed by My City Links, a city-based monthly magazine and the sister concern of Prelude. With an aim to promote Odia designers, the My City Icons calendar has been conceptualised with Odia icons from distinct fields dressed with designer apparels.

Odia actor Akash Dasnayak, actresses Anu Choudhury and Archita Sahu, eminent Odissi dancer Aruna Mohanty, legendary hockey player Dilip Tirkey, sprinter Dutee Chand, Odissi and Chhau dancer Illeana Citaristi, veteran actor and chairman of Odisha Film Development Corporation (OFDC) Kuna Tripathy, chess player Padmini Rout, singer Rituraj Mohanty, actor Sabyasachi Mishra and sand artist Sudarshan Pattnaik were present on the occasion.The designer dresses in My City icons calendar were conceptualised by Label Rituparno, Shrikruti Creations, Zuby’s Designer House and Jyoshna Das.
