Bhubaneswar: Noted Odia poet Hrushikesh Mallick has been selected for the Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award.
Announcing the awards for for 2021, the Akademi stated that Malick will be conferred the award for his book ‘Sarijaithiba Opera’.
Litterateur Digaraj Brahma has been selected for the Akademi’s Bal Sahitya Puraskar and Debabrat Das Yuva Puraskar for the year.
Mallick has 40 books to his credit including 12 books on poetry, two story collections and 10 on literary criticism. His poems have been translated into English, Hindi and Bengali languages.
He has been honoured with several awards including 37th Sarala Award for his poetry “Jeje Dekhi Nathiba Bharat”. He was appointed as president of Odisha Sahitya Akademi in May.
