Bhubaneswar: Noted Odia singer Pami Mishra has lodged a complaint at the Cyber Police Station in Bhubaneswar accusing a music production house of copying her song.
The singer alleged that the production house is making some financial gains by presenting her 14-year-old song as its own. After coming to know about it, she lodged a song plagiarism case against Sai Sagar Creation and Pabitra Entertainment, Mishra said.
She alleged that her song was downloaded from social media and uploaded to the YouTube channel of the production house. A couple even claimed that the song was their own, she said.
The singer said that she came to know about it when some well-wishers sent her the link of the video sourced from Sai Sagar Creation and uploaded in the name of Prativa Upadhyay alias Prativa Das, who is the wife of Prasanna Upadhyay, the producer of Sai Sagar Creation.
Mishra said when she called up Prativa to find out if she sang the song, the latter confidently claimed it was she who sang the song.
She said the song – “Ilo bau lo bau emiti bayasa kie dela lo’ – was recorded on November 17, 2010.
No reaction was immediately available from the production house regarding the complaint.
