Bhubaneswar/Puri: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who along with his ministerial colleague Pratap Sarangi visited Puri on Saturday to seek the blessings of the Lords at Jagannath Temple, said that they will urge Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a special package to develop the tourism sector in the Pilgrim Town badly hit by cyclone Fani on May 3.

During the visit, the Union Ministers took stock of the situation in Fani-affected areas and discussed about the steps for restoration of the sector.

Besides the special package, Dharmendra said they will apprise the Centre of the requirements of the badly-hit hospitality industry, whose members have requested them for loans at low interest.

Banks too have been asked develop a blue print for economic revival of the affected areas by leveraging the power of MUDRA loans, he said, while urging them to increase the loan docket and support new projects to rebuild the tourism ecosystem of Puri.
