Bhubaneswar: Following directions of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, the body of an Odia worker from Balasore is being brought back to Odisha from Mumbai.
Muralidhar Mahakud, a labourer from Sahapur village in Gobindpur panchayat of Khaira block, passed away in Mumbai while undergoing treatment. His family, in financial distress, had appealed to CM Majhi for help to bring back the body to his native place.
On Tuesday, Majhi directed Balasore district administration to help the family immediately.
“On the instructions of the Chief Minister, arrangements were made by the district administration to bring his body to Odisha by an ambulance. Mahakud’s body will reach his village on Wednesday,” the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), stated.
The CM also spoke to Mahakud’s wife and daughter, over the phone and expressed his condolences. He assured them of support and encouraged his daughter to continue her education.
