New Delhi: Eminent author Mrunal’s latest book Pathe Prantare, compilation of his weekly columns in an Odia newspaper, has been released at World Book Fair at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi.
The book was released on the backdrop of a panel discussion on ‘Publishing for Children: trends and opportunities’ on the book fair premises.
Professor of Indian Languages at JNU and Sindhi litterateur Ravi Tekchandani, Sahitya Akademi advisory board member Bijayananda Singh, Poet Amaresh Khatua, Adikabi Sarala Das Chair Prof. at JNU Udaynath Sahoo and Debendra Raut had participated in the discussion which deliberated on the reading habits of children and young people.
The book has been published both in E format and in hard copy by Dhenkanal-based Sephali Communications.
This is the third part of Pathe Prantare, which comprises of Mrunal’s popular weekly column published in an Odia daily The Samaya.
This column is the author’s reflection on the life around us and presented in a lucid form using his unique writing skills. He deliberated on the discussions, be at home or at work or which simply cropped up during a casual chat with the friends. He expressed his views, both positive and negative, on the issues in most of the columns and in some he left it to the readers to form their own opinion. He dealt with issues ranging from regional to international in his column. Each and every column has its own impression which the writer curated in his original writing style. Readers will find writings around diverse topics, including Jalianawalabagh massacre, Freedom of Press, 2019 general elections and electoral reforms.
