Odia Writer Pratibha Ray To Receive Sarala Award

Cuttack: Noted writer Pratibha Ray will be conferred with the Sarala Award for the year 2018.

She will receive the award during the 38th annual function of Sarala Sahitya Sansad at 6 pm at Sarala Bhavan in Cuttack. on December 8.

She will get Rs 1,05,000 , a silver memento and uttariya, informed president of Sansad Dr Prabhakar Swain.

Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan is scheduled to grace the function as the chief guest.

Pratibha Ray has earlier received Kendra Sahitya Akademi award, Moortidevi Samman, Jnanpith award and Padma Shri.

Notably, Sarala Sahitya Sansada has been felicitating noted writers every year, in the memory of Adikabi Sarala Das.

The cash prize of the award has been increased from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1.05,000, this year.
