Jajpur: Odisha police have arrested a 24-year-old youth from Bengaluru for allegedly posting obscene photographs and videos of. aa married woman on social media.
The accused has been identified as Basanta Kumar Sethy of Panasudha village.
According to sources, the victim filed a complaint stating that Sethy is her husband’s friend whom she met during her visit to Bengaluru where her husband works. The accused allegedly visited her house frequently and managed to capture her photos and videos on his mobile phone without her knowledge.
She returned to her in-laws’ place in Balichandrapur in the first week of November, following which Sethy demanded money by blackmailing her with her photos and videos.
When she ignored his threats, he allegedly posted her photographs and videos on social media platforms.
Thereafter, she filed an FIR against Sethy at Balichandrapur police station on November 23. Based on the complaint, Balichandrapur police arrested Sethy from his workplace in Bengaluru on Sunday and seized two mobile phones from his possession.
