Bhubaneswar: The Bahrain Odia Society (BOS) has celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi by following all the measures against COVID-19.
The puja was held at the residence of BOS Founder, Dr Arun Kumar Praharaj.
Reportedly, only a few Odia participated in the puja while most of the other devotees viewed the rituals via video calling.
All those attending the puja physically were checked for coronavirus prior to the commencement of the rituals and they wore masks and ensured social distancing among themselves during the entire event.
Praharaj said BOS has been in the forefront of celebrating all Odia festivals in Bahrain. It celebrated Rath Yatra in 2019 with a gathering of 5,000 devotees.
As of now, Bahrain has a COVID-19 caseload of 49,330, including 45,981 recovered cases and 184 deaths.
