Cuttack: As many as 12 under-trial prisoners have tested positive for COVID-19 in a sub-jail at Salepur in Cuttack district.
Jail sources said five inmates had tested positive on April 30. Following this, the jail authorities had conducted tests of the remaining inmates and seven more were found positive.
As a precautionary measure, the 12 inmates have been kept in an isolation room on the jail premises.
The jail authorities informed that the entire prison has been sanitized and a special team of doctors has been formed to conduct the health check-up of the inmates at regular intervals.
