Balangir: Police have seized around 1200 bottles of cough syrup while being transported illegally and arrested 3 persons in this connection in Odisha’s Balangir district.
Following reliable information that a vehicle was carrying the cough syrup bottles from Cuttack, a team of Balangir Town police station stood guard at the entry point of the town. As the vehicle accompanied by a person on a bike arrived, the police intercepted it. But the vehicle driver evaded the police and drove away.
After chasing the vehicle in a filmy style inside the town for some time, the police managed to stop the vehicle. On checking it, the police found 1,200 bottles of cough syrup packed inside boxes.

They have registered a case and started a manhunt to trace the mastermind of the racket whose identity was revealed by the arrested persons during questioning, police sources said.
