Odisha: 3 IRB Jawans, Arrested With 15 Kg Cannabis, Dismissed From Service

Bhubaneswar: Three personnel of the 5th India Reserve Battalion (IRB), arrested in Boudh’s Manmunda area for allegedly possessing 15 kg of cannabis, were dismissed from service on Saturday.

I would appeal to all our policemen not to get involved in any illegal activity. Three IRB jawans working in Manamunda were sent to jail a few days ago. They have now been dismissed from service,” Boudh SP Rahul Goel said.

Havildar Kunal Singh was found in possession of 5 kg, while the two constables, Trilochan Rana and Nilam Barla, were caught with 7 kg and 3 kg of the contraband, respectively, during a raid at the IRB barracks on March 25. They were deployed in Manmunda for anti-Naxal operations and drug trafficking surveillance.
