Cuttack: Police arrested four persons for poll-related violence in two panchayats of Niali block in the district on Thursday.
According to reports, some miscreants damaged ballot boxes in several booths at Jalarpur and Alana panchayats while polling was in progress for the panchayat elections. The miscreants are reported to have poured water on the ballot boxes and damaging the ballot papers.
Cuttack Collector Bhabani Shankar Chainy said a detailed report has been sent to State Election Commission (SEC) over the untoward incidents in Niali block and a decision is awaited.
