Bhubaneswar: Actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan on Tuesday described Odisha as a model state in the country.
“Odisha is a model state and we are trying to seek knowledge from here so that we would make Tamil Nadu like Odisha. We are taking the experience from every state, which are the forerunners in some ideas or the other. But Odisha remains a forerunner in many ideas,” Haasan told mediapersons after receiving the honorary doctorate from Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on behalf of the Centurion University of Technology & Management (CUTM) at a function here.
The actor said he felt honoured that the Chief Minister found time to share his wisdom for Makkal Needhi Maiam (People’s Centre for Justice), a regional outfit of Tamil Nadu founded by him. “Apart from the honour from the CUTM, it was an educational tour for me as I was enlightened by a great man of fantastic precedence and success in politics,” he pointed out.
