Bhubaneswar: The Crime Branch will conduct the lie detection test on Bidyabharati Panda, the wife of the deceased Paralakhemundi ACF Soumya Ranjan Mohapatra, on Monday.
Responding to the notice of the state investigating agency for the test, she arrived at the Odisha State Forensic Laboratory (OSFL) with her father this morning.
After three-hour interrogation of Bidyabharati at her house at Goudagan village in Kaptipada block in Mayurbhanj district on September 2, Crime Branch DSP Gyana Ranjan Mishra told the media that she did not respond to some questions and may have to undergo a lie detection test.
“We had quizzed Bidyabharati on a series of questions including her post-marriage relationship with Soumya and his family members, her relationship with Paralakhemundi DFO Sangram Keshari Behera and what she was doing when the forest officer caught fire. Some of the replies she gave were not credible,” Mishra had said.
Notably, the Crime Branch on Saturday had conducted the lie detection test on Paralakhemundi DFO Sangram Behera and cook Manmath Kumbha at the OSFL.
The family members of the deceased ACF had lodged complaints, naming the DFO, Bidyabharati and the cook as the prime accused.
