Odisha ACF’s Death: Forest Officer’s Father Meets Crime Branch ADG, Demands Arrest Of Soumya’s Wife

Cuttack: With the Crime Branch failing to make much headway in the death case of Paralakhemundi Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF) Soumya Ranjan Mohapatra so far, the ACF’s father on Tuesday appealed to expedite the investigation.

Speaking to the media persons after the meeting Crime Branch ADG Sanjeeb Panda, Abhimanyu said the investigation into the death of his son who reportedly died of burn injuries on July 12 should be expedited to bring the culprits to book.

“Though more than 75 days have passed since Soumya’s death, we are yet to get justice. The investigation has neither held anybody responsible for the incident nor led to any arrest so far,” he said.

Alleging involvement of Paralakhemundi DFO and Soumya’s wife Bidyabharati in the ACF’s death, Abhimanyu demanded the transfer of the DFO and arrest of Bidyabharati.

It may be noted that the Crime Branch has conducted the lie detection test on Paralakhemundi DFO Sangram Behera, cook Manmath Kumbha and Bidyabharati.
