Odisha Actor Akash Das Nayak’s ‘Kurukshetra’ To Release In Feb, Check Which Genre He Wants To Explore Next

Bhubaneswar: Ollywood actor Akash Das Nayak’s upcoming film, ‘Kurukshetra’, is all set for release in February. Though the dates are yet to be announced, the film will be first released on television and OTT platforms under the banner of Zee Sarthak.

The actor will be seen playing a cop in the film.

“I have played the character of a policeman in two of my previous films. But, this one will be a little different as I will also be seen doing a bit of comedy,” says Akash, who will depict both the professional as well as the family life of an ‘honest cop.’

What excited Akash to sign up for the project was the fact that he would get to do an action movie after a gap of some years. “It’s a perfect family entertainer, packed with all elements—action, comedy, emotions and values,” the actor reveals.

Often referred to as an introvert in real life, Akash said it wasn’t really difficult to perform comedy on the screen. “When I walk up to the sets and as soon as I hear the sound of the clapperboard, I forget the real ‘Akash’. That’s the most appropriate way to act. The less of ‘Akash’ is seen on the sets than the character I play, the more convincing the film will be,” he says.

The actor will be seen sharing the screen with actor Tamanna Vyas.

After ‘Kuruskshetra’, the actor says he will be on the hunt for scripts with characters he has never played before. “I want to do a sci-fi film in Odia. In Ollywood, not much has been explored in this genre. I would love to work for such films which would entertain the children as well,” he adds.
