Bhubaneswar: Odia actor Buddhaditya Mohanty has landed in a soup over his social media post on Lawrence Bishnoi, who is believed to be involved in the killing of NCP Leader Baba Siddique, and the gangster’s rumoured targets.
Student wing of Odisha Congress on Friday lodged a complaint at Capital police station while demanding an apology from the actor.
The complainant alleged that Buddhaditya, in the social media post, had mentioned senior Congress leader as her next target. “He has to apologise for making such a statement, which an indirect appeal to Lawrence Bishnoi to target our leader,” he said, threatening ink attack on the actor if he fails to do so.
In a post, the actor had described gangster Lawrence Bishnoi as a secret agency of India and said that All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen President Asaduddin Owaisi and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi could be his next target. “Germany had the Gestapo… Israel has the Mossad.. US .. has the CIA… Now India Has Lawrence Bishnoi.. Next in the list shld be….”
Buddhaditya, however, has rubbished the allegation. “I had only posted about the rumours doing the rounds on various social media platforms as Owaisi and Rahul Gandhi as his next possible targets. I only mentioned that Bishnoi is being compared to ‘Gestapo‘, a secret police in Adolf Hitler’s Nazi Germany, and Mossad of Israel. I have no intention to instigate or target anyone. The Congress people misunderstood me as well as my post,” the actor said, adding that he was ready to apologise.
The actor has since deleted his post. “Nothing I have mentioned in the post will spread violence,” he asserted.
