Balasore: Four persons sustained critical injuries when an ambulance caught fire after hitting a truck parked on NH-60 near Mirigimundi in Odisha’s Balasore district early on Sunday.
According to sources, the mishap occurred around 3.45 am when the ambulance was ferrying three persons, including the patient, from Basta to Balasore. The truck driver fled soon after the accident.
The injured were initially admitted to the districts headquarters hospital here. The pharmacist along with 2 others travelling in the ambulance were later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital for further treatment.
Police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
