Cuttack: Taking note of the rising incidents of violence perpetrated by the outlawed CPI-Maoist members in the border areas, the Odisha and Andhra Pradesh police will launch a joint operation soon.
A decision to this effect was taken during a video-conferencing between Odisha DGP Abhay and his Andhra Pradesh counterpart on Thursday.
The meeting discussed other issues pertaining to the intelligence sharing and the strategies for the joint operation in the border areas of the two states.
Among others, BSF ADG, IGs of CRPF, joint secretary of the Home Ministry, SPs of the bordering districts of both the states participated in the video-conferencing.
