Odisha Approves 755 New Posts In Govt Medical Colleges To Boost Healthcare

Bhubaneswar: In a bid to further strengthen state’s healthcare services, the Odisha government has approved the creation of 755 new posts across various government medical colleges and educational institutions.

These include

seven posts of Professors, 35 Associate Professors, 50 Assistant Professors, 29 Tutors, 248 Senior Residents, 190 Junior Residents in MBBS, 112 Casualty Medical Officers and 84 Blood Bank Officers.

The decision comes after the recent addition of 250 MBBS seats in three new medical colleges and an increase of 68 PG seats, which created the need for more faculty and support staff.

When these positions are filled, the availability of teachers, doctors, and specialists in medical colleges will improve significantly, benefiting both medical education and patient care.

Health and Family Welfare Minister Mukesh Mahaling said the government is giving top priority to the health sector and this step will further strengthen healthcare system in the state.

This will also help achieve better quality medical education and healthcare services in the coming days, he said.
