Bhubaneswar: Renowned sand sculptor Manas Kumar Sahoo from Odisha created a stunning sculpture of Lord Shiva on the Miramar beach of Goa and sent across greetings to citizens of the country on the occasion of Shivratri.
The grand sand sculpture features Lord Shiva in the ‘Dhyan Mudra’ posture on Mount Kailash. “Oh God! Plese Spread World Peace” a message inscribed on the sculpture reads. “Happy Mahashivratri,” was also engraved by Manas on it.
Aroung 20 tonne sand has been used for making the of 20 feet wide and 7 feet high sculpture, Manas said, adding that it took over 10 hours to build it.
This sculpture was inaugurated by Goa Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant along with yoga guru Ramdev.
Aarti was offered to the giant sculpture of the Lord. Manas said he was happy that his creation attracted many visitors and drew applause from them.
