Bhubaneswar: Internationally acclaimed artist Sudarsan Pattnaik paid tributes to two valiant freedom fighters from Odisha on their birth anniversary on Thursday by creating their sand sculptures at Puri Beach.
Sudarsan created unique sand sculptures of the two iconic leaders, Subhas Chandra Bose and Veer Surendra Sai.
The sculpture of Subhas Chandra Bose depicted the leader riding a horse, with a colourful Indian tricolour on the backdrop. Sudarsan got “Jai Hind” elegantly etched into the sand, creating a striking visual representation of the leader’s legacy.
Similarly, the sculpture of Veer Surendra Sai captured the spirit of the freedom fighter with intricate details, including vibrant colouring in the background that featured the National Flag.
The sculpture was accompanied by the inscription, “Great Freedom Fighter Veer Surendra Sai,” paying homage to his heroic contributions.
“Subhas Chandra Bose and Veer Surendra Sai were born in Odisha on January 23, a day of immense pride for all of us,” said Sudarsan.
Noting that the two brave freedom fighters made invaluable sacrifices for the country, he said he offered tribute to them on their birth anniversary through the sand sculptures.
