Puri: An ASHA worker, Sukanti Jena of Odisha’s Puri has been invited as one of the Special Guests for the 78th Independence Day Celebration at Red Fort in Delhi on August 15.
Jena is among several other ASHA, ANM and Anganwadi workers who have been invited to attend the Independence Day in Delhi. The invitees have thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the gesture.
Jena, who was widowed a few years back, dedicated her life to the society and has made different government schemes reach people seamlessly. For this, she was felicitated by the government and different organisations a number of times.
The ASHA worker along with her daughter have left for Delhi on Rajdhani Express and are scheduled to attend the Independence Day celebrations on Thursday. All arrangements for their travel and stay at the national capital have been made by the government.
