Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Assembly was adjourned till 4 pm on Saturday following an uproar by BJP members over paddy procurement by the government.
The incident cropped up during zero hour when the BJP MLAs led by the Leader of the Opposition, Pradipta Naik, rushed to the well and urged Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro to direct the Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister to apprise the House of the volume of paddy procured by the state government till date.
They also demanded the extension of the deadline of paddy procurement till April 15.
Unable to run the proceedings, the Speaker adjourned the House till 4 pm.
