Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Assembly was adjourned till Tuesday amid uproar by the Opposition Congress members.
As soon as the House session began at 10.30 am, the Congress members rushed to the well of the House protesting against the steep hike in the prices of petrol and diesel and did not allow Speaker Pradip Kumar Amat to conduct the Question Hour.
The BJP members also raised the alleged massive scam in the Cooperative Societies and sapling plantation and demanded a CBI probe.
Unable to run the proceedings, Speaker Pradip Kumar Amat adjourned the House till the next day.

Due to Bharat Bandh, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik arrived at the State Assembly four minutes late.
“The Speaker deliberately adjourned the State Assembly to avoid the discussion on important issues of the Home department scheduled today,” alleged senior Congress leader Chiranjib Biswal.
Alleging that the Speaker has gone against the democratic norms, Opposition chief whip Tara Prasad Bahinipati said that the former instead of seeking a clarification from the Chief Minister on his delayed arrival, remained silent and abruptly adjourned the House till Tuesday without conducting the Question Hour.
Before the commencement of the Assembly session, the Congress activists led by the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Niranjan Patnaik had staged a dharna in front of the State Assembly and detained the BJD leaders who had come in their vehicles. They also detained the vehicle of senior IPS officers Amitabh Thakur and Sunil Roy. The two officers later kept their vehicle near the main gate and walked into the Assembly premises.
