Bhubaneswar: The BJP on Sunday said that it will press for resumption of the question-hour session in the ensuing winter session of the Odisha Assembly, beginning November 20.
Briefing the media, leader of the Opposition Pradipta Naik said the State Assembly must have a question-hour session so that the MLAs will be able to redress the problems in their respective constituencies.
Stating that the Speaker should not have cancelled the question-hour session of the Assembly during the monsoon session, he said the BJP will press for the resumption of the session at the all-party meeting scheduled on November 18.
“There has been a marked improvement in the COVID-19 situation with the number of new cases in the state gradually coming down. Keeping the declining trend, we will urge the Speaker to extend the business hours of the Assembly by one hour for the question-hour session,” Naik said.
