Bhubaneswar: The budget session of Odisha Legislative Assembly is set to commence from February 17 with an address by Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati.

As per the provisional calendar released by the assembly secretariat, the session will kick off with the Governor’s Address, followed by discussions on the Motion of Thanks and the much-anticipated presentation of the

annual budget for the financial year 2026-27.

The session will continue until April 8, providing ample time for legislative deliberations.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who holds the Finance portfolio, is slated to present the state budget on February 20, a pivotal event expected to outline the government’s fiscal priorities, including allocations for development, infrastructure, and social welfare schemes.

Subsequently, the Appropriation Bill—authorising withdrawals from the Consolidated Fund to meet the government’s expenditure as outlined in the budget—will be introduced on March 31.

Following the budget presentation, general discussions will occur on February 23 and 24, after which the assembly adjourns for a break from February 25 to March 8.
