Bhubaneswar: The Monsoon Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly begins on Saturday.
The Monsoon Session’s timings have been extended by an hour. It will be held from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm, and again from 4 pm to 7 pm. “The House will now function for six hours with the afternoon session, starting at 4 pm, extending till 7 pm instead of 6 pm,” newly appointed Speaker Bikram Keshari Arukh told mediapersons earlirt.
The session, which will continue till August 4, will have 24 working days. Two days have been marked for private members’ business.
The House will gather with strict adherence to COVID protocols.
Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari will present the full-fledged Budget for 2022-23 on the first day of the session.
Pujari had on March 30 presented an interim Budget for 2022-23 with an outlay of Rs 2 lakh crore. A full-fledged Budget could not be presented in view of the panchayat and ULB polls in February and March. Instead, a Vote-on-Account was presented to meet expenditures towards salary, pension, interest, calamities expenditure and other ongoing schemes and programmes.
