Bhubaneswar: The Epidemic Diseases (Odisha Amendment) Bill, 2020 was passed in the Odisha Assembly on Wednesday.
The Bill has the penal provisions of imprisonment up to two years and Rs 1 lakh or both for violation of the law.
Piloting the Bill, Health Minister Naba Kumar Das said that considering the rise in the COVID-19 cases in the state, the government has decided to take stern action against the violation of the COVID-19 guidelines to contain the spread of the virus.
