Bhubaneswar: The election for the post of Speaker of the Odisha Legislative Assembly will be held on June 13, State Secretariat sources informed on Wednesday.
The filing of nomination papers for the post will be held on June 10.
Notably, Bikram Keshari Arukha, whom Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik dropped from the ministry, is tipped to be the Speaker of the Assembly. It remains to be seen if Bikram Arukh will be elected Speaker without any contest. Though the number is overwhelming, the BJD has 112 members in the Assembly, it is to be seen if the ruling party can forge a consensus on his name.
